1	First Fridays from 10 – 11 a.m. Join us the First Friday of every month for a special program for 3-6 year olds and their families. Museum staff lead adults and kids through exploring one of the exhibits using story, song and art making. $5 per child, those with Museum Family Membership are free.
15	January 15 – April 11, 2010 Making it Better: Folk Arts in Pennsylvania Today In the Main Gallery This exhibit demonstrates how old traditions are still integral to modern life. Paintings, embroidery, music, dance, beadwork, metalwork and carvings help heal the sick, challenge social inequity, assist meditation, and help communities both grieve and celebrate. 25	The Power of Song – An Evening of Ballads, Courage and Hope at 7 p.m. Erie Art Museum Annex Folk music, like folk art, anchors cultures in a changing world. Meet some of these artists and hear their songs. Free; $10 suggested donatiion.
27	Pysanky Egg Workshop from 1 – 4 p.m. Erie Art Museum Studio Classroom Pysanky is an ancient method that uses wax to create intricate dye patterns. Watch a master artist at work and create your own decorated egg. $7 Museum members; $10 non-members. Reservations (814) 459-5477.

8	April 8, 2010 at 7 p.m. Roger Shimomura Lecture In conjunction with his visit to Erie as juror of the Spring Show, renowed painter Shimomura presents a lecture about his work at Edinboro University's Pogue Student Center.
11	April 11, 2010 at 3 p.m. Short Ceremony to Dismantle the Sand Mandala A short ceremony to dismantle the sand mandala and dispose the sand will be held at 3pm on Sunday, April 11. According to Buddhist practice, sand mandalas need to be respectfully returned to Mother Earth. The public is invited to participate in this brief service of meditation and obtain a small quantity of sand to take home.
