Textile Design Workshop
Saturday October 4 &11 from 12–2 p.m.
Think twice before you toss those old tablecloths, napkins and pillow cases and reduce, reuse and recycle! Inspired by the Kanga and Kitenge: Cloth and Culture in East Africa exhibit, workshop participants experiment with a variety of print and dye methods to transform your old linens and shirts into something new. Working with non-traditional materials such as Kool-Aid dye baths, flour and water batik, and potato prints lends lots of fun to this ancient art. Bring your own fabric. Dyes and other materials provided. This workshop is great for beginners, both men and women, and a good class for a parent to take with their kids aged 8 and older!
Adults: $85 ($50 members) • Children: $50 ($30 members)
