Every Wednesday during June, July and August the Museum extends visitors FREE admission, guided half hour gallery tours at 12:00 and 12:30 and live music on the Museum's front steps. Looking for something for young artists? The Erie Art Museum offers gallery-based art making sessions. Each week features a new theme.
Hours: Tusdays beginning June 17, 3-4:30 p.m.

Gallery exhibition receptions and events at the Erie Art Museum and area galleries. EMTA's Bayliner will provide free shuttle transportation through-out the gallery route. Art and music teachers work with Museum staff and a visiting East African delegation to understand East African commercial textiles in conjunction with the Museum's Kang & Kitenge: Cloth and Culture in East Africa exhibit. Act 48 credit awarded.

• October 16, 2008 from 4–7 p.m.
Educator Safari
Teachers of all grade levels and disciplines work with Museum staff and visiting East AFrican delegation to understand East African commercial textiles in conjunction with the Museum's Kang & Kitenge: Cloth and Culture in East Africa exhibit. Act 48 credit awarded.

Kanga Party
To celebrate the opening of Kanga and Kitenge: Cloth and Culture in East Africa and to honor our delegates from Kenya, the Museum will transform itself into a Swahili cultural paradise.  Enjoy an African fashion show, storytelling, traditional drumming and dancing from Sudan and Burundi, get an authentic henna temporary tattoo, watch demonstrations of African beadwork and batik techniques, and dance to the infectious beat of Afropop tunes.

An exhibition of original artworks, with readings and musical performances by students at Edinboro University, to benefit the student-directed literary and arts publication, Chimera. (works will be on display from Nov. 2)
