Framing Basics Workshop

Our Master Framer, Joseph Popp, has been instructing students in proper framing techniques for the past 18 years. Learn all aspects of basic framing, including layout, measurement, mat cutting, mounting, and fitting to metal and wood frames. The class is limited to only 6 students. Each participant receives hands-on experience measuring and cutting their own mats and backings, and learning how and why to choose and apply the proper mounting methods for their specific project. Joseph likes to stress that even if you never frame anything beyond this workshop, you will know exactly what to demand of your future framer!

Bring one work not exceeding 16" X 20". The fee covers matting, mounting and backing materials. You will leave with a piece matted and mounted by yourself, ready to be fitted into a frame. Additional materials, including frames and glass may be ordered.
