The Northwestern Pennsylvania Art Association’s (NPAA) Seventh Biennial marks the second edition of this exhibition to appear at the Erie Art Museum. The NPAA has gone through extraordinary change during extraordinary times, seeking to redefine its role and establish itself as the home for all professional artists and arts professionals in the region, including traditional arts, allied professions and academics.
Paolo Ventura, a noted Italian multimedia artist, is the 2021 biennial juror, chosen for his broad range of work and determination to maintain his creative output during the confines of a strict lockdown. He chose 54 works from 40 artists and recognized several for their outstanding merit — “In this complicated period of our lives art is really something that we can rely on. It was a pleasure for me to take part in this and get the chance to share feelings and thoughts with artists on the other side of the world.”
