Mary Ann Schenck
The Erie Art Museum relies on volunteers. They accomplish an array of duties from serving on the Board of Directors to assisting with installing exhibits and keeping the facility clean. Mary Ann Schenck became a volunteer when she retired from her position as an elementary art teacher. Museum staff often rely on her to lead school tours. She deftly facilitates children’s careful observation of the art, letting them ask questions and explore ideas. She also fearlessly leads them through art-making projects that relate to the exhibits. Mary Ann clearly enjoys her time with art and kids, “The Erie Art Museum is a local treasure, it is an honor to share a few of its many treasures with students. And, it’s also great fun!” Thank you, Mary Ann, and all our stellar volunteers, for your expertise and enthusiasm!
