Drawing At The Museum

All ages welcome, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult

Drawing at the museum will allow you to gain a deeper connection and appreciation of art in a calm, safe environment. We hope to see you here and welcome you to our growing art community!

You will also have the opportunity to be guided through a 30-minute facilitated visual exploration of a highlighted piece in our collection from 12:00 - 12:30 pm. This exploration offered at the very start of this program may help you find new ways of thinking about and processing visual art.

Chairs will be set up throughout the gallery spaces, inviting you to sit a while with a piece of artwork. You will be able to work independently or ask for help from one of our volunteers as you engage with the art surrounding you and allow your creative mind to wonder. Our volunteers will be available to engage in conversation or help you with your drawing skills.

You are welcome to bring your own materials for drawing but please consider the following: In order to protect the art at the museum, liquid materials like inks, paints, markers, chalks, compact or vine charcoal, as well as pastels will not be permitted. If you’d like to participate but don’t have your materials, we will provide some for you!
