Join us for Art After Dark and the opening of Summing the Wind by Qian Li in the main gallery on Thursday, September 5th at 6 pm.
Doors open at 5pm, hear Tyler Smilo & Dom DeCecco in the Holstein gallery at 6pm.
As an interdisciplinary artist, Qian Li weaves together personal narratives with universal themes, bridging the gap between individual experiences and collective concerns. Drawing from her upbringing in a Chinese coastal village and her journey of raising a biracial family in the United States, she is deeply intrigued by the delicate dance between opposing forces. Through painting, print, video, and installations, this exhibition will offer a multidimensional exploration of these themes, inviting viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of human existence. Li is a professor at Cleveland State University and the Collective Arts Network exhibition prize winner of the CAN Triennial in Cleveland/Northeast Ohio, 2022.
