Introduction to the Foundations of Photography
About the Instructor Erica Whiting
Erica is a multidisciplinary artist and creative photographer focusing on non-traditional and experimental portraits. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a Certification of Art Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Her mission is to help you fall in love with yourself and showcase your individuality. She uses dramatic lighting, props, movement, creative editing techniques and set design to promote positive self-image and inclusion for empowering, photoshoot experiences. No idea is too out of the box when it comes to planning your session.
Erica’s work has been exhibited in the Nicole + Harry Martin Spring Show at the Erie Art Museum and the ArmErie Show at the Bayfront Gallery in Erie, PA. Her photography work has been featured on the Unscripted Posing App, Business Insider, and the New York Post. Erica is also an art educator, having taught for the Erie School District and Erie Art Museum.
Class Description
Lead by professional photographer and artist, Erica Whiting, this three week class teaches participants to learn the basic foundational skills of photography; such as composition, shutter speed, depth of field, exposure and how to navigate camera settings. Each week they will make photos they have composed and created using techniques taught in this class.

Dates & Times
This class meets on Saturdays, January 11th through 25th from 11 am – 12:30 pm.
Materials Required
