The Erie Art Museum, in partnership with the Penn West University at Edinboro Art Department, is excited to announce Keliy Anderson-Staley as the Spring Show juror.
Keliy Anderson-Staley is a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow, a 2008 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow and a 2013 George and Eliza Gardner Howard Foundation Fellow. She has received additional project support from the Sustainable Arts Foundation, Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, Puffin Foundation, and Houston Arts Alliance. She has been an artist-in-residence at Light Work in Syracuse, Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester and Aurora Photo Center in Indianapolis. She holds a BA from Hampshire College and an MFA from Hunter College. She is Professor of Photography | Video at the School of Art, University of Houston.
“Keliy as the juror for the Spring Show continues the wonderful legacy of inviting renowned artists and educators to build relationships with the Erie arts community,” stated Laura Domencic, Executive Director of the Erie Art Museum. The Spring Show originated as the Art Club of Erie’s “May Show.” The inaugural exhibition was held in 1923 with the help of director emeritus and founder of the Art Club of Erie, Lovisa Card-Catlin. The name was changed to the “Spring Show” and the artist call expanded from a 75 to a 250 mile radius, bringing in works and ideas from the regional powerhouses of Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Cleveland. The EAM partners with Visiting Artist Speaker Endowment at Penn West University at Edinboro to expand the associated programming with Spring Show jurors to include art talks, workshops, and critiques. Generous support for the Spring Show is also provided by Nicole & Harry Martin.
The 102nd Annual Spring Show will open April 3, 2025.
