Intro to Darkroom Photography: Shooting, Processing, and Printing Black and White Photographs
Class Description
Professional artist and photographer Sarah MK Moody invites you to explore the art of traditional black and white photography in Erie's first community darkroom at 1020 Collective. With over 20 years of experience in darkroom photography, Sarah will guide you through every step of the process, from using a 35mm camera and shooting on film to developing and printing your final images.
Throughout the course, you will learn essential darkroom skills, including film processing, creating contact sheets, and making prints. You'll have the opportunity to rent a camera and will receive a discount to a 1020 Community Darkroom Membership upon completion of the course to continue your practice. This class is designed for beginners and those looking to deepen their understanding of film photography, offering hands-on instruction and guidance from an experienced professional.
By the end of the series, you will have gained a solid foundation in film photography, from capturing images to processing and printing, with the confidence to continue experimenting and creating in the darkroom independently.
