Introduction to the Foundations of Drawing
Class Description
This introductory level drawing class is perfect for those with little to no experience or anyone looking to strengthen their foundational drawing skills. You'll learn essential techniques and develop a strong base for visual expression across various drawing media. The course covers the elements and principles of art & design, tools and methods for shading, contour drawing, grids, perspective, and the ability to “draw what you see, not what you think.” Guided studio sessions will focus on drawing simple objects, still lifes, and landscapes, with introductions to urban sketching, continuous line drawing, and mixed media. Group discussions and critiques provide opportunities to share your work and grow in a supportive environment.

$150 for members and $160 for non-members for the full 6 week course. Members use the promo code DRAW for your discount!
Students can bring their own supplies or pay a $10 material fee for shared materials. This option will be confirmed at checkout and noted on student's registration. Those choosing the $10 material fee will pay the instructor in cash on the first day of class. Kneaded eraser and white eraser (e.g., General’s or Prismacolor)

Extra-fine black Sharpie
Shared materials will be provided for those without personal supplies.
