The Erie Art Museum & its Exhibitions

The Erie Art Museum’s mission is to maintain an institution of excellence dedicated to the promotion and advancement of the visual arts by developing and maintaining a quality art collection, by encouraging art in all its forms, by fostering lifelong art learning, and by building community among artists, art students, and the public.

Include in the Proposal

  1. A one-page description of the proposed exhibition

  2. Artist biography including contact information (OPTIONAL: additional information that may be of interest for marketing and educational purposes.)

  3. An exhibition checklist including the pieces that could be exhibited and information including the artist, titles, and medium.

  4. A link (dropbox, google drive, web portfolio) to images of the available works for the proposed exhibition. 

  5. A list of requested display materials, if applicable (Eg. moveable walls, pedestals, etc.)

  6. Any other information that could be deemed essential for exhibitions staff to consider while reviewing.

Please note that while online submissions are preferred, we will accept mail-in submissions that include a copy of the following items:

  1. Artist CV and biography

  2. Portfolio

  3. A one-page description of the proposed exhibition

Notification

You will receive an email notification upon submitting your proposal to confirm its submission status. If interested, an Erie Art Museum representative will contact you following the review of your submission.
